Ann Daly Arts Consulting LLC is part consulting firm, part executive coaching practice, and full-time think tank.

Based in Austin, Texas, Ann Daly Arts Consulting LLC provides strategic advising to individuals and organizations that make, fund, or serve the arts. Together we share a commitment to shaping a meaningful future for the cultural sector.

Ann Daly Arts Consulting LLC works with clients who want to increase their effectiveness through improved strategy in areas ranging from management and audience development to planning/evaluation and public policy.

The goal: to form thinking partnerships that challenge, support, and inspire clients to tackle their most complex and high-stakes issues.

A longtime thought leader in arts and culture, Dr. Daly is a frequent author and speaker nationally and internationally. She is the award-winning author of three books on the performing and visual arts and has served as cultural commentator for the New York Times, Village Voice, Chronicle of Higher Education, and NPR's “Marketplace.” She has contributed articles to Dance/USA Journal, Grantmakers in the Arts Reader, Inside Arts (Association of Performing Arts Presenters), and International Arts Manager.

Dr. Daly has been featured in the Australian Financial Review and quoted in the Austin Chronicle. Her essays on art and cultural policy have been commissioned by the American Dance Festival, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Dance Advance (Pew Charitable Trusts), and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She writes a monthly e-letter entitled “The Successful Artist.” In Winter 2007 she will debut a series of how-to books for artists under the same title.

An engaging and inspiring public speaker, Dr. Daly has been invited to address groups across the US as well as in Australia, Canada, England, France, Hong Kong, Italy, and South Korea. Her American engagements have included the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, Americans for the Arts, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Performing Arts Center at The University of Texas at Austin, Vera List Center for Art and Politics at New School University, and Walker Art Center. She conducts her “Skills for Success” workshops nationally and internationally.

A former professor in the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Daly is a master teacher and facilitator. Previously, she began her career as a journalist, working as an arts writer for a major daily newspaper, a design trade magazine editor, and managing editor for a scholarly journal.

A former panelist for the National Endowment for the Humanities, she currently serves on the advisory board of the Deborah Hay Dance Company and Pro Arts Collective (Austin).

Dr. Daly earned her Ph.D. and MA degrees in Performance Studies at New York University. She graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University with a BA in journalism and art history.
